Scouts Minibus Engine Stripped - 26th February 2009
Thieves have stripped a Black Country scout group’s minibus engine, leaving them stranded.
Leaders of the Howley Grange group in Halesowen are now keeping their fingers crossed that their prized bus can be fixed in time for an upcoming camping trip.
The setback is the latest in a series of crimes which has even seen diesel drained and stolen from the scout groups minibus. Now a series of security measures such as CCTV may be introduced in a bid to beef up security and deter thieves.
The group, which includes scouts, cubs and beavers, noticed the latest theft on Sunday. Leaders say that both side mirrors were taken along with the battery, fuel filter and other engine parts.
