York Wheels up for national award - 11th May 2009

A voluntary organisation, which provides community transport for York residents, has been short-listed for a national award.

York Wheels has been short-listed for The Guardian Charity Awards 2007 for their charity work in York. The charity takes people to the shops, the coast, the hospital or dentist as well as many social events, such as Bingo or to the cinema.

York Wheels undertook a total of 30,128 journeys providing community transport last year. The judges will look through all of the applications and assess each in turn, finally deciding upon the five winners.
